ghouls night out

When it comes to train graffiti, one crew stands out as one of the most important and influential in the game.  That crew is Addicted to Metal (A2M).  Recently, one of these adikts passed through town with the talented Lowe, and I was lucky enough to go on a mission with them.

Benching with True2Death

There are a lot of photographers out there benching these days.  For me, it's not some kind of contest...just something that I enjoy doing.  However, there are definitely some benchers that are a cut above the rest.  One of those is True2Death, who was nice enough to answer a few questions and share some of his favorite photos for bridge burner.

Bridge Burner:  Where are you based out of?
True2Death:  I am based out of Southern California. I shoot the majority of my freights in Los Angeles County.

BB:  How long have you been benching?
T2D:  I started benching at the end of 2006.

BB:  What cameras/lenses do you use? What is your go to set up?
T2D:  I shoot primarily with a Pentax K-7 with a 12-24mm lens. I also generally have these with me in my camera bag: Pentax K20 with an 8mm Sigma Fisheye, 50mm prime lens, A GoPro Hero 3+, Ricoh GR4 and a Ricoh GR1s which is 35mm. On occasion I take out my Holga 120N. I have a few other cameras, but I rarely shoot them.

BB:  Besides graffiti, what do you like to shoot?
T2D:  Besides graffiti... I shoot anything I come across. I would like to take portraits, but I don't have the guts to approach people to do so. Favorite thing to do is shoot while traveling. I have been fortunate to travel all over Japan over the past 14 years. Nothing like taking a train until you see something interesting. Then exploring for miles.

BB:  How much time in an average week do you spend benching?
T2D:  It depends on the week, but I'd say 8 to 10 average.

BB:  Do you have a "white whale" so to speak when it comes to benching that you have been wanting to catch but have yet to?
T2D:  One type of car has avoided me... an ICHABOD wholecar. I have never seen on. One of these days I will catch one.
